Your result for The Doctor Who Companion Test...

Romana II

You are Romana II. While you still retain all your knowledge from the Academy, your time spent traveling with The Doctor has mellowed you a bit, and you and The Doctor now get along quite well. The Doctor also greatly enjoys your company - you're smart enough to keep up with him, but are no longer the brash young know-it-all of your previous incarnation.

Unfortunately, all that mellowing has also caused you to become a bit more dependent upon The Doctor than you might like - you seem to be getting captured by monsters more and more these days. Still, you know how to enjoy yourself, and will probably stick around for the time being.

I ended up liking Doctor Who: The End of Time, despite all of Rusty's obvious excesses, and the fact that the exact thing that I feared the most happened. I liked a lot of the things that everyone else did. Still... I can't help feeling like I was watching a slightly different show than anyone else was.

What do you mean it wasn't called: "Rassilon: Epic Sex Lord of the Universe"?! Well, it was for me, sweethearts!

Featuring Bernard Cribbins, Catherine Tate and David Tennant as host. Noel Fielding is, as he has been this past season, team captain--and Catherine's on his team, squee!

On YouTube in four parts behind the cut )

Noel so totally needs to be on Doctor Who. He does a divine Dalek voice, I know that for sure, LOL!

Okay, so there was new Doctor Who and... whoa. That was pretty intense. Beautifully so. By far the best of the specials (though I did love Michelle Ryan as Lady Christina), though admittedly not without faults of its own.

I've also gotten me sweaty little mitts on the newly released Boosh tour DVD, Future Sailors. I admit I watched it with some trepidation because the reviews (of the show itself) have been almost overwhelmingly negative. Then again, most of the reviewers added that they disliked season three as well and that the boys are getting "too far from the zoo," both of which I disagree with.

So, what did I think of it? )

ETA: I had never heard of the Honey Monster until watching the Mighty Boosh Future Sailors Tour, so I Googled it. Holy crap! How come we don't have a pornographically named pseudo-Muppet mascot; we get stuck with Dig'em (on the Honey Smacks box, the American equivalent of Britain's Sugar Puffs), the jive-talkin' frog. But I still didn't get it: why the Honey Monster hatin'? And then I found this advert of the Honey Monster crimping. Ahahaha! I guess the boys didn't think imitation was the sincerest form of flattery after all!

Seriously, this is my third week being sick. I'm never sick for this long; something just... wormed its way into my immune system. My right ear's infected now, so I feel like I'm on the deck of a ship during a storm all the time. Yes, even lying in bed I get vertigo. It's a very odd sensation and I have to recall when my sister first went deaf (from a series of ear infections) how she would actually just spontaneously fall down. I understand it now! I blew my nose the other day and I heard this horrid sound and blacked out before I realized it was coming from inside my own head--my ear to be precise! (Luckily, I was sitting on the couch so I just fell onto the cushion next to me!) Before that, I was out walking the dogs and got so sick, I didn't even make it home, I had to crouch next to the mailboxes and puke in the bushes! (Luckily, out mail lady's super nice and was very kind to me!) It's... strange. It's been a long time since I've been anywhere near this sick for this long!

Anyhoo, it also means that I haven't kept up with my flist as I've wanted to. I've been reading posts and trying to comment when I can, but lots of things have just kind of passed me by. Like a look at [livejournal.com profile] shipotl's fantastically beautiful garden! Fanvids and fanfics, assorted and sundry. So, I do apologize once more, gentle flist, for my recent inattentiveness. I have been reading, really! Hugs you all!

So, now news. The Official BBC Press Release for Merlin Season 2 revealed that Lancelot would be back, hooray! I won't have to watch episode five repeatedly anymore just to get my Santiago fix!

Doctor Who's new companion was revealed. Yeah. Well, she's awfully pretty. And if the Moff can pull off a character as fantastic as, well, any other female he's ever written (say, oh, Nancy, Sally Sparrow, Reinette, River Song, smart Miss Evangelista... Well, you get the idea!) I'm sure she'll be fantastic. Yes, I'm struggling to be optimistic here.

Oh, and this is for [livejournal.com profile] moetushie! Like father, like son aka Duo of Swedish Hotness Stellan and Alexander SkarsgÄrd (clicky on the thumbnails):

Come on, they're so much alike! And he's a hot old guy, I can't help it! Hee!

Okay, I have a need to know! First person on my flist who knows, all you wonderful UKers out there, I beg of you: enlighten me! I know Patterson Joseph is the favorite at the mo, and he'd be fab but I need absolute positive (or negative) confirmation!

*Is even too excited to squee!*

EDIT: And the new Doctor is: Er, Matt Smith? Off to look him up!

EDIT #2: Oooh, I know him! He played Jim in the Sally Lockhart mysteries! His Wiki page here!

EDIT #3: Piccie time:

When you see this line on your flist, post a quote from Doctor Who.

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

Experimenting with Expressive just 'cos, well, I like to mess around with my journal. Squee for the Spidey banner I'm using though I'm not sure how long I can go without getting to admire a Nic/Ghost Rider piccie everyday. And, yes, I still wanna fuck Nicolas Cage ;-P I searched around and, much to my delight, was actually able to replace the header image with my own, but that's about the extent of my knowledge, so I'm relying on the different themes for the rest of the stuff, and I can't quite find a theme that goes really well with it. I'll probably go back to my Gwen/Peter themed header before Spider-Man 3 comes out, but it was fun playing around.

And, hooray, I might have finally found a decent Ghost Rider bootleg that I can actually play as well! Whee!

And, yay, new Doctor Who starts in, oh, about five minutes! Of course, I'll have to wait to see it, but only about an hour and a half or so, ahem... ;-) I must admit, I'm not entirely convinced of Martha just yet. We'll see. She looks like Rose 1.5 to me; I swear, if she's making goo-goo eyes at the Doctor as well, I'm throwing in the towel. Oh, I'm still gonna watch it, but I'm going to stop hoping for anything more than it is. I guess I already have, but the optimism remains. Silly, silly Ghani!

Which Doctor (from Doctor Who) Are You?

You are the seventh Doctor! Warm and friendly to those around you, your manner can take a dark turn at times. Those who cross your path have significant reason to fear, as your morality is a bit more liquid then might make some comfortable. However, you are not human, and behind those clever eyes a new scheme is brewing. The responsibility of protecting the universe lies on your shoulders. How can you help it if no one understands?

Meh, not as comprehensive as it could have bee (where are the questions about the McGann tv movies?! What if I only really liked Eccles' new Doctor and not Tennant's? What are my feelings on Rose?!) and the idea that I flinch when someone swears is uproariously funny, but otherwise, I'd say it's fair.
