Some questions stuff

These from
jadeblood's question meme HERE:
1. The question of doom: Choose a Winchester! CHOOSE! And give your reasons. ;)
Here's the chickenshit answer: John. I just simply can't do the Dean or Sam thing and, well, it's true, I'd pick John over the both of them because he's more mature, sexy as hell (so to speak, heh!) and competent--I'd certainly trust him with my life. Daddy Winchester's just one of the most badass characters in existence. He freakin' climbed out the gates of Hell! And he was a devoted husband and a loving father, even if his ways of showing it weren't always exactly perfect or really any good at all--I mean, who can't relate to that?
2. Who is your all time favorite comic heroine and why?
Even just a few years ago, I'd go with an easy answer and say one of the X-Men superwomen and, truly, they remain some, almost all of, my favorites. Rogue got me through my awkward and uncomfortable teens and twenty-somethings; Jean always appealed to me and not just because we share the name, but because she was basically a good girl that had this dark and overpowering thing inside of her she had nearly no control over. Betsy and Kitty are just made of awesome and recently Joss Whedon's completely sold me on Emma Frost.
But I think right now, as my absolute favorite, the title would have to go to Elektra. She has that quality, where she's a good person who can't quite find her moral compass; she reacts in a very primal manner to everything that comes her way, and lots has, and a lot of the time she's wrong and slightly demented in her choices. She lost her center and really had to struggle to find it again, even after realizing that she'd always been, well, unbalanced. Frank Castle finds her nihilism irresistibly alluring; she's the love of Matt Murdock's life; she held her own with Witchblade. Plus, she's a freakin' urban Greek ninja! I aspire!
And those are the Marvel girls which, really, is my niche, though I need to mention that two of my great loves or on other comic labels: DC's Huntress and Top Cow's Witchblade, Sara Pezzini.
And, to all those civilian wonders, those gal pals who keep secrets or secrets are tragically kept from, who have no superpowers but manage to capture our hearts nonetheless: Gwen Stacy and Karen Page, both sadly deceased.
3. Ever read a book that changed your life? What was it?
The Book of Three by Lloyd Alexander. It changed the landscape of my imagination at a young and impressionable age, it got me interested in an entirely new culture I knew nothing about and which would completely redefine my life both religiously and my interest in history. It fueled a now lifelong interest in fantasy and The Chronicles of Prydain were the first books I was able to read by myself--I was very, very behind in developing my reading skills. Those were such a personal experience for me, my first literary wise, that I struggled through them only to realize that reading wasn't such a struggle after all, even if it took me longer than it does others.
4. Where do you stand religiously?
I believe very strongly in a higher power. What that higher power is, I have no idea, nor do I think anyone else has it completely figured out so I respect any and all attempts to do so unless they're openly harmful or just plain nasty (*coughUnderagePolygamistscough*) I'm Wiccan, but I'm solitary because I differ on some key issues with the established religion part of it, and Episcopalian because that's how I grew up.
I believe in reincarnation. I'd like to be convinced there's a Heaven because I'd like to believe that's where my mom is, but I think you believe what you believe and those views aren't going to be changed unless something very drastically changes within you.
5. What's your favorite thing to collect?
Books! I used to say action figures and I really did love to collect them and set them all up, pose them, put them in groups and make scenes. But now there's nothing so beautiful to me as a new book, and I'll sit there examining the cover, every inch of it, reading the forward and afterward, the acknowledgments. And then I'll admire how it looks on the shelf--if it's part of a series, how I can arrange them on my book shelf to look the best it can. Oh my God, I'm such a geek!
