A sigh and some good things

So, I burnt my fingers yesterday. holding something, so the burns are in the most touchable place they could be. Mother Nature's so cruel: why do burns keep burning for hours after I've actually burned myself and why does it take, like, ten second to register that I'm being burned in the first place?! Crazy!

But, a look on the brighter side of things, my sister's friend went dumpster diving and found some really nice designer clothes in me and my sister's sizes! I mean, I'm talking Anne Taylor, Abercrombie & Fitch, ESPRIT and, well, Old Navy, which is not so designer but still nice stuff. And all apparently new! Kickass!

Oh, and this conversation rocked:

Sis: Who's that on your (computer desktop) wallpaper?
Me: Rodrigo Santoro
Sis: ???
Me: *sighs* Paulo on LOST
Sis: Ooooh! Well, I wouldn't have recognized him; that's the only thing I've seen him in.
Me: Nuh uh! He's in 300, but you wouldn't have recognized him from that!
Sis: Who is he in that?!
Me: Xerxes. *silence* King of the Persians.
Sis: That is not the same person. *Is shown photographic evidence* *!!!* Holy shit!

Hee! I love doing that to her! I also pointed out that he's the surfer in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, which she was absolutely obsessed with for a while, and badgered her until she finally conceded that she didn't even notice him because "Cameron looks really good in that scene!" We're a sex crazed family, what can I say?! xP

Ahahaha, she couldn't get out of admitting that one because she had actually called him "incredibly attractive" at the time, when we watched it. I remember every time she makes note of a man's looks because she almost never does, which I told her and she had to grudgingly agree! xD

ARGH, I'm sorry! *hugs* Just keep it cool and dry! And heal quickly, because I say so, LOL! It's so strange, too... My mom burned her hand yesterday. It's fine today! And it was the silliest thing ever. She had a potholder in one hand and got the pan out of the oven with the bare one. O_o

I will admit, I didn't realize he was Xerxes either! HAHA! I usually recognize actors really easily, so that's a testament to how different he looked in that role. Wow.

Oh my God, I did the same exact thing! I used the potholder to open the oven--WTF? It wasn't even hot on the outside! LOL! and then i get it open and reach right in with my bare hand! 0_0 Ann asked how it had happened and i told her, "I don't want to say; it was so stupid!" xP

Talk about versatility, huh? I'm gonna blow his horn a bit now (mehehehe, musn't make... dirty... comment...) because he certainly doesn't blow his own horn, but for someone who (must) know how freaking good looking he is, he has an amazing range and surprising lack of vanity. Or maybe total sense of and immersion in vanity, which is how he wore that Xerxes costume! @_@

That is so WEIRD! You and my mom were on some kind of cracky wavelength! Apparently, it is not so strange to have something like that happen. ;) I know mom rolled her eyes a thousand times just telling me how it had gone down, lol.

For someone to be totally unrecognizable from role to role, he has to have some talent. ;) I need to watch more of his work, obviously!
