RIP Tillie-boos

My parents' Australian Shepard, Tillie, just passed away this morning. She was nine years old, a good run for the old girl. I can't help a feeling of loss not just for the dog we cared for so much but of the last firm tie we had to our parents. We love you, Tillie!

We bought her in a pet store, we were actually in search of a kitty as one of our senior pet members had just passed. My dad saw her and just absolutely fell in love! I'm not usually as close with dogs as I am with cats but Tillie took to me immediately, curling up against me during the car ride home. She was just a little poof ball back then and we were all so excited. She's been happier and healthier the past year than she ever has been in her life, I believe. And loved above all else!

Peace, Ghani

Sorry to hear about your dog. I still think about my cat, Elizabeth, who passed away six months before Archie (my current cat) was born. I find that it is so much fun to have a pet around, they truly are part of the family and are truly missed when they go.

Big Hugs to you!

What a neat-looking dog! I'm glad she had as long as she did but I'm sorry to hear she passed. :( Hugs to you!

They really are part of the family, no question about it :-) The cat I had since I was a baby passed away shortly after we had gotten Tillie and I still miss the smoof-ball!

Big thanks for the hugs!

Thanks for the hugs! She was unique in every way (appearence, personality; but then, every pet owner thinks theirs is the best, don't they? :-)) and my sister's taking it particularly hard because she was so close to her (I'll pass along your hugs!). We lost a cat to cancer (our little Scully) just earlier this year so it's been hard but hugs always help! :-)

I'm so sorry - as a person who has lost 5 dogs in my life I definitely can say I've been there and it is so hard. Dogs and cats become like children to some people and their loss can be very difficult. {hugs}

Awww, I'm so sorry you lost a furbaby. *hugs*

As George Carlin once said, it's kind of part of the deal when you get a pet that you're going to outlive it- unless you're 98 and you buy a tortoise! It's still pretty devastating, especially during such a time of turmoil as my life has been for the past year! She'll be missed but definitely, the cyber-hugs are helping! Thanks! :-)

Thanks! She was my boo-boo bear (I haven't even begun to expose you to my disgustingly cute "pet language"! LOL! ;-)) and the house already feels empty without her. Give Tim and Molly hugs for me!

Peace, Ghani

Bwahahaha, I think Twister would take my arm off if I tried to conduct an orchestra with her. Not like the "Timchestra"! ;-)
