CW confirms sixth season for Supernatural

The biggest surprise, though, may be the return of 'Supernatural,' as series creator Eric Kripke has been hinting in interviews for months that its current fifth season would likely be the last for the franchise. What led to this about face is unknown, but if there's one thing we've learned by watching The CW's lineup of vampires, demons and supervillians, it's to always expect the unexpected.

Honestly? I'm... mixed. I'm hoping that another season might mean going back to what I liked about the show to begin with as the past couple of season slowly (but, alas, surely) have sort of... lost me, as loathe as I might have been to admit it until recently.

This was discussed as a possibility even while Kripke was basically telling the press this was going to be the last season. I mean, hey, look how many more seasons the CW milked Smallville for waaaay after they'd proclaimed a finale and, let's face it, way, way, way after its prime. We'll see. I guess I'm just an optimistic person.

I saw the news and as a, well, more or less non-fan, I was surprised by the choice. Honestly, I was kind of hoping it would conclude so I could have a chance to catch up, heh.

I think the CW was never crazy about this whole five-year plan nonsense that Kripke hit them with about a year ago; there's been buzz ever since that they were going to continue it and, honestly, they handed it over to the most competent of all the writers, and the gal one really gets the feeling has been the heart behind the show for a while, Sera Gamble. So everything's pretty good.

To be honest, the past two seasons have been kinda... meh for me, so I'm hoping it'll sort of go back to what I loved about it before. I do still recommend catching up on the first two seasons, which are pretty self-contained! :-)
