Halloween spooks!

Okay, so another year has come and gone. Unfortunately, though we decorated outside (a source of much pride as we received LOTS of very nice compliments last night) we didn't do much inside like we have other years (clicky on the 'Halloween' tag to see for yourselves!) and Ann was feeling kind of yucky from her pain killers and had been dressed up for work this year anyways so she just wanted to relax. But you know I couldn't go a year without dressing up!

This started out as a disco zombie (we dubbed it Panic! At the Disco, Disco of the Dead, The death of Disco, etc.) but we were getting really little kids and I wanted to do something fun. So I'm kind of a wacky disco alien! With my hair down and the sunglasses on, by the way, I totally looked like a Barbie from mine and my sister's generation!

We come in peace, man!

Believe it or not, that is not actually a costume but something I found for cheap at an antiques mall. Seriously, it's the real deal, and it was made really nicely despite being very obviously polyester! It had pockets and this nice chiffon lining...

Photobucket
The big wacky rings I'm wearing I got off of the birthday cupcakes my brother bought me!

Photobucket
Oh, yeah! Get down with your bad self!

Photobucket
Without the flash. A little blurry but I think you get a better feel of what I looked like in person!

Photobucket
And of course the Buzzy Bee dressed up with me as usual! I took her walking like that and we inspired hoots of laughter from passing trick-or-treaters! XD

Photobucket
And Basho had to make an appearance in this one, which is okay because he's silly without a costume! Ha!

And so endeth Halloween and the Holiday season begins. I'll start taking the decorations down today, which will make me sad, but I have our Christmas lights to look forward to! Decorations, you have served me well! One guy who hardly spoke English pointed to them, gave me the thumbs up and told me, "Best in whole development!"

The most flattering, though, was my little friend Jack; I see him when he's walking his doggie Dewey and I'm out walking Pebbles, and he likes to talk to me. When I answered the door, he was so surprised it was me who lived here and his mom told me that they'd saved our house for last because of our awesome decorations! My sister and I feel like maybe we should get free rent for a month for this (the first year we lived here they had a costume contest for free rent; we didn't win but no one's ever liked a costume as much as they've liked our decorations!) But we're just happy that the kids liked 'em so much!

Peace, ya dig it? Ghani

Mmm hmm, another alien in a human suit. So you're from the planet Discotechia? :D

God, you look really, really young...like early twenties. You're more like late twenties though, right? Either way, you look fantastic, not just with the costume. :)

Thank you! :-D I just lost a bunch of weight, so I was actually feeling pretty good about the way I looked; certainly better than I have in a loooong, loooooong time. I just turned 31 on Wednesday and, I swear, if you saw my 40 year-old brother, you'd think he were my age!

So you're from the planet Discotechia?

XD Yup, and we came to party and get down!

*Hears strains of my Meco Star Wars LP in the background...*

*Notices icon...O hai thar, Qui-Gon*

Way to go on losing the weight! :) Funny, I don't recall that you looked any different from that time in DC and from some of your pictures online. So that would make you an immortal alien disco queen, I suppose. Or else you're just blessed with some inner effervescence that makes you eternall youthful. Or something...

Meco Star Wars LP, you say? Now you've inspired me to go raid my father's albums! Huzzah!!!!!

You look so CUTE! I love the wavy crimped-ish hair-- nice touch. And are you thinner? Skinny beotch. ;p

I used to love shopping at AmVets and thrift stores back in the day, and finding those fabulous 60s and 70s long polyester dresses. I didn't know places still had them.

I didn't dress up. My boss borrowed my Jedi costume, and none of my others were work-appropriate. I was very boring this year. I wrote smutty fanfiction all day. :)

Bwahahaha, yup, I lost a bunch of weight! And these pictures were with all of my time-of-the-monthly weight on too (before I peed it out yesterday XD Sorry, TMI! XP)!

The best thing about that dress? It was totally a pant suit! Yup, those are culottes! My parents used to have a booth in an antiques mall and there was this one booth that just had the greatest things; I used to raid it every time I went there with them! But that's by far my best find because people just can't even believe it's real! XD

And, hey! Writing smutty fanfiction? Best pastime ever!

Cool costume!

And you know what, if I didn't know better, from the picture I'd have sworn you were my age (and I'm 22). No really.

Oh and, my best friend and I are going to have a Halloween party next year, so why don't you come over? ;D You look as if you'd be a fun person at such a party. And bring the dog... ;D

Thanks! :-D

And, hee! Yeah, people can never believe how old I really am! When I show people my I.D., they spend almost ten minutes going, "No way! Not really?!"

I love Halloween! Could you tell?! ;-)
