zouzounakiTagged again for the character meme, this time with Ruby from Supernatural!
1.) Do you like this character?
Oh, this is a very, very loaded question. I started out loving the character. The badass, I'm-no-saint ally of the Winchesters was just an appealing idea to me. I was okay with the body switch--I actually don't mind season 4 Ruby--especially because she's softer, more soft spoken and, for her purposes, it was right. But she's become horribly redundant; she shows up only to remind Sam that he should continue to practice and use his powers, blah, blah blah. Yeah, I've heard it before.
I'd love for her to become the character I love to hate (and I get the feeling that's what they had intended with Bela, who never pulled it off; I just hated her), but their insistence in keeping her motivations a mystery is taking its toll on the character. I'm waiting for the end of the season for any solid judgment, because I have a feeling that there'll be some reveal then, so if there's any answer to this question, it's that one.

Ruby, She-bitch, short bus.
3. Is there any popular fanon about this character that you forget isn’t actually canon?
Ruby put the Trickster up to the prank he plays on Sam in Mystery Spot, trying to harden him for the coming war. Seriously, I so accept that as fact, sometimes I have to stop myself to remind myself that some people haven't even thought of that!
I also tend to hold in my own personal fanon that she, at some time, met Colt and that's why she knows how to make the weapons. I think her recent stint amongst the living isn't her first since her death, and that she got together, in some capacity, with Samuel Colt in the past. That's a story I have yet to tell...
4.) What song do you associate with this character?

5. Is there anything you’d change about this character’s arc?
I'd make her motivations a bit more obvious and her appearances less redundant. "Oh, Sam is off using his powers; time to show up, again, and make him change his mind with the same old arguments." I'd also add more of a backstory, kind of like something they used to do on Angel, you know? Some flashbacks through the ages, that type of thing.
6.) From all of the titles that feature this character, what other character do you think makes a good pairing with this character?
I used to Sam/Ruby, but it's not quite working for me anymore. Maybe because it feels like the character is going nowhere. Like i said, in my personal fanon, Ruby/Samuel Colt. They're my historic OTP!
7.) What would you want to say to this character?
If you're going to be ambiguous, at least try to act like there's something more going on in there! 'Cause, really, you can give Sam the doe eyes all you want, but we all are trying to figure out what you're about and it's driving us nuts!
8.) What do you want to do with this character?
Punch her in the face. No, seriously, brawling with Ruby would kick ass! And she'd probably kick my ass, but it'd be a good time nonetheless! xP
