Title: Ghost Of A Chance
Author: Ghani Starkiller @ [livejournal.com profile] mrs_peel_fanfic
Disclaimer: Ain't mine, characters and situations belong to Marvel and the filmmakers.
Rating: PG
Characters: Roxanne Simpson, Tony Stark, Pepper, Rhodey, Johnny Blaze/Roxie, hints of Tony/Pepper and Roxie/Rhodey?!
Summary: Roxanne Simpson, on the job! And this time, her interviewee has a few surprises of his own, as well as one hell of a smooth come on line!
A/N: [livejournal.com profile] jadeblood, this one's for you, babe! I know you've been having a pretty crappy time of it lately, to say the very least, and I thought that this might cheer ya up a bit! Hugs!

Roxanne Simpson looked down the list in her hand with a sigh

Title: Season of the Witch
Author: [livejournal.com profile] ghanistarkiller @ [livejournal.com profile] mrs_peel_fanfic
Fandom: Ghost Rider (movie!verse with comic allusions)
Disclaimer: Marvel and the filmmakers own 'em, I just play with 'em
Rating: PG-13, for language and slickly implied sex
Characters: Carter Johnny, Mephistopheles
Warnings: Suffice it to say, spoilers for the movie
Summary: Visions of the past, as well as some personal demons of his own, are drawing Johnny to a small town in Arizona where Mephistopheles' force is gathering, entangling him in an ever growing web that encompasses a lost tribe of the desert and a new friend, Linda Littletrees.
A/N: So, I've decided to post my fanfic over here as well; I'm rarely over at LJ anymore, though the link will take you to my LJ fanfic journal. It just seemed right. There's a small allusion to the comics in this chapter, readers of the Ketch era will catch it. Something might come of it later...

Title: Merry Christmas Darling
Author: Ghani Starkiller @ [livejournal.com profile] mrs_peel_fanfic
Disclaimer: Ain't mine, characters and situations belong to Marvel and the filmmakers; Karen Carpenter belongs to Heaven.
Rating: PG-13-ish
Characters: Johnny/Roxanne
Warnings: Spoilers for the movie obviously, some sappy romance
Summary: Johnny spends a lonely Christmas Eve dreaming of the day he can finally come home to celebrate with Roxy.
A/N: Wasn't originally going to be Christmas themed but I happened to ehar The Carpenters' "Merry Christmas Darling" on the radio while I was thinking of writing and got to thinking about how that was probably Johnny's favorite Christmas song and then the lyrics just really wrote the story for me! It also occured to me how hilarious it would be to do a version of A Christmas Carol with the Ghost Rider character...Maybe another day... ;-)

Written for: [livejournal.com profile] jadeblood as a very special Christmas prezzie. You wanted a Johnny/Roxy fic and this one's for you, darlin'! Mwah!

Greeting cards have all been sent...

New Halloween fic is up at my Hornblower Erotic Het Fanfic jounral [livejournal.com profile] evenstar_tales:

Dead of Night So far, I have three of the five chapters up, working on getting the completed thing up and running.

Past seasonal offerings, both among this author's favorite pics, include The Wayward Soul and The Nightjar

Over on my general all-fandoms fanfic comm, [livejournal.com profile] mrs_peel_fanfic, my one seasonal offering is the Star Wars-based Mysterious Planet while I'd just like anyone interested to know that I have relatively new chapters of both X-3: X-Men's Last Stand and Chapter 8 of Ghost Rider: Season of the Witch (most of you interested have probably already seen that one). I also bit the bullet and put up my very first fanfic ever, Pitch Black: A Dark Horizon. It's not very good. But I love myself just enough to be proud of it, heh!

Where to start? 'Twas a good weekend for fandom, mine at least. Highlander: The Source aired and probably the less said about the actual movie, the better. Now, I'm not a snob, I love those movies, especially the last one where I geeked out with both Connor and Duncan, but this was kinda meh. The end made me groan and roll my eyes. Make love, not war, baby, was the message of the day, but I watch Highlander to begin with to see guys gettin' thar heads cut off! And Methos really was a total dick in this one, as Duncan points out; what der hey? And once again Amanda was just a no-show. And Joe, oh Joe! How I cried! We didn't actually see Methos' death, so I remain convinced that he's still alive, somewhere hiding again. They definitely left it open. I'd always hoped that if Methos ever died, his quickening would be astonomical, but since they were all mortal by the end of the movie and he was offscreen...shrug. I had to laugh, too, at Duncan recounting the many mortal companions he'd lost over the years, which amounted to all of about three, when his fallen immortal comrades number in the twenties, ha! I still enjoyed it, I have to say, but I would do just because of what it was.

Terry O'Quinn finally took home an Emmy, yay! Go, Team Locke! And Michael Emmerson just looked so handsome and so cute! And in other exciting LOST news, we just read that Jeff Fahey will be joining the cast next season! Jeff freakin' Fahey! SQUEE! Now, granted, the idea that they're going to be adding yet more cast members shows not only a complete and total ignorance to and inability to gauge fan reactions and learn from one's mistakes (they've tried it once in the second season and again in the third. From the new groups they've introduced only one character remains. Yup, just the one). Now, see, we wouldn't mind so much if they remained in the background, but the creators--bless 'em because I love 'em--insist on these new creation taking up valuable screen time more established characters could be enjoying. Juliet had far more screen time than, say, Sayid last season which isn't as bad as Nicki and Paulo--shudder--having their own episode! I really don't understand why they feel the need to do this every season! There's been no news on Nestor Carbonell's return to the show after the initial announcement that CBS wasn't willing to let him do it. I can only hope his show bombs (isn't that mean of me, but I need my Alpert fix!) in time to go film some episodes!

K-Ville premiered last night and was interesting mostly for its setting and not necessarily for its story, so I don't know how long it's going to last. Kudos to FOX for actually writing a biography of Cole Hauser without one mention of Pitch Black, from wence about 85% of his fans come and one of the only movies he's had a starring role in.

According to Outpost Gallifrey, Torchwood had the largest audience of any BBCAmerica drama premiere evah. Torchwood FTW! Between Burn Notice blazing through the ratings and this bit of news, I must say a lot of my faith in the TV watching populace has been restored. It proves, if you make a good show and really are willing to stand behind it and get it out there (read: advertizing blitz, as both of those shows had), people will watch!

Meanwhile, in video game news, I finally got my hands on a copy of BioShock, supposedly the greatest game of the year, and i have to say I wasn't all that impressed. Now, this you must know first: I am not a fan of the FPS. I just don't like the POV. It ruined ResEvil 4 for me. And since the story and the setting were so like an adventure/survival horror game, it was doubly frustrating. I happen not to like having the first indication that I'm being shot at be a bullet barrage into my side or back. I do have peripheral vision, you know. And having to move the camera around all over the freakin' place to take int he amazing setting was infuriating. I think it stopped me from really getting into the story, too.

And this is just pure geek out on my part, but I was reading a new Doctor Who book, Forever Autumn by Mark Morris, as was overjoyed to see a mention of a Ghost Rider poster being part of a "typical twelve year-old's room," along with the likes of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. Awesome.

So, other news. Well, my sister didn't get the job, the one she would have actually have liked to have gotten, and now she's depressed because she's scared if she can't get that job at the library, which she's even over qualified for and she knows so much about every type of literature, that no one in town is going to hire her because she's deaf. Unfortunately, her fears are not unfounded. It just makes me so angry! I can't imagine there were any two people (yes two positions!) who were more qualified than her.

On top of all that, she has an 85 year old man stalking her. That may sound hilarious, but he's actually really scary and I don't know what's going to happen with that 0_o

Some good news: The Ghost Rider Extended Cut is made of pure awesomeness. More on that when I've more time to blog and better circumstances under which to do so.

And now some lyrics 'cos I'm feeling particularly in the mood for these. Man, would I like to dedicate this to everyone who worked so freakin' hard to mess up my life, starting with my parents, who I forgive because I'd do anything to have them back with me, to all those school administrators and psychiatrists and physicians who screwed me over.

I WANTED TO BE:

At Dukes Fest 07. We were watching coverage on CMT (yes, we were watching CMT, which is like a whole 'nother planet, but that's what made it fascinating. And, yes, John Schneider is still highly, highly fuckable.)

I WANTED TO CRY BECAUSE:

Because a storm fried my computey. I was wise enough to turn off my laptop but totally forgot about the family computer and, well, we had a huge surge from a nearby lightning strike. (So apologies to all for my very short answers as of late and absence of e-mails.) I getting most of it up and working, though it looks like my DVD burner was a casualty, which also means that...

I WANTED TO HIT MY HEAD AGAINST THE WALL REPEATEDLY BECAUSE:

I can't burn the new Doctor Who episode, along with the Confidential, and watch it in the den like I do every week.

I WANTED TO JUMP FOR JOY BECAUSE:

Ghost Rider Director's Cut comes out tomorrow, squee! Even though I can't buy it (though I do have it and the extra disc in my Netflix queue) tomorrow because...

I WANTED TO POUT BECAUSE:

Even though we have that $12,000 coming in, we are completely penniless right now. Been here, done it, it will be very nice to to have to worry like this anymore, I'll tell ya.

I WANTED TO LAUGH HYSTERICALLY BECAUSE:

My sister told me to pause an episode of Dukes of Hazzard because they were shirtless and, and I quote, 'Even I like that. That's saying a lot!'

I WANTED TO HUG:

[livejournal.com profile] may_child, 'cos she's my best friend, one of the sweetest, most generous and funny people I have met and she's having a really tough time!

I WANTED TO SHAG:

Well, you know the list, but this particular weekend was Garrett Hedlund because I got an awesome copy of Georgia Rule, which grew on me, and he's finger lickin' good in it.

I WANTED TO CHEER BECAUSE:

I got 70 pages of my original novel done. In three days. I think I might actually get this one into a workable manuscript! Sadly, that means no time for my fanfics, Supernatural chapter 1, Ghost Rider Chapter 8, X-Men 3 alternate chapter 3, all of which are vying for my attention as well, but I'm remaining focused, determined to!

Again, I thank all of you who have read and commented; y'all just make my day and you definitely make it all worth it :-) EDIT: And my apologies for any errors you might come across; the storm last night caused me to lose my final draft and I was working from memory.

Experimenting with Expressive just 'cos, well, I like to mess around with my journal. Squee for the Spidey banner I'm using though I'm not sure how long I can go without getting to admire a Nic/Ghost Rider piccie everyday. And, yes, I still wanna fuck Nicolas Cage ;-P I searched around and, much to my delight, was actually able to replace the header image with my own, but that's about the extent of my knowledge, so I'm relying on the different themes for the rest of the stuff, and I can't quite find a theme that goes really well with it. I'll probably go back to my Gwen/Peter themed header before Spider-Man 3 comes out, but it was fun playing around.

And, hooray, I might have finally found a decent Ghost Rider bootleg that I can actually play as well! Whee!

And, yay, new Doctor Who starts in, oh, about five minutes! Of course, I'll have to wait to see it, but only about an hour and a half or so, ahem... ;-) I must admit, I'm not entirely convinced of Martha just yet. We'll see. She looks like Rose 1.5 to me; I swear, if she's making goo-goo eyes at the Doctor as well, I'm throwing in the towel. Oh, I'm still gonna watch it, but I'm going to stop hoping for anything more than it is. I guess I already have, but the optimism remains. Silly, silly Ghani!
