Title: My Choice Is Who I Should Betray
Fandom: Merlin
Author: Ghani Starkiller ([personal profile] bouncybouncy)
Rating: NC-17 (strong sexual content)
Disclaimer: I make no profit from this, alas!
Characters/Pairings: Lancelot/Morgana
Prompt: Written for Porn Battle IX - exiles, substitute
Notes: If you have never heard Heather Dale's "Exile", go listen to it now! It inspired this fic as much as the prompts did and each lyrics can be applied almost as a line of the prose itself!

Lancelot often takes refuge in the Druidic camps found amongst the wilds of the forest; they are safe havens, and offer him food and a soft pallet for the night.

What Merlin character am I most like?

So, my sister had a dinner to go to tonight, which meant I was able to watch Lancelot and Guinevere much sooner than I'd thought, hooray! And since it was the pure awesomeness I was hoping it was going to be, I just had to write a review!

Spoilers for 2x04--duh! )

Santiago/Lancelot-oriented promo pics for episode 2x04, Lancelot and Guinevere! Expect spoilers, big time! Edited to add: I made them thumbnails because my layout was messing them up, cutting off about a fourth of the image. So just click on 'em for the full version!

But, as always, I hate to end on such a down note, so here's a Merlin fanvid, using "Lancelot" from Spamalot and, not surprisingly seeing as this is one of my posts, centering on Lancelot! xP

Behind the spoilery spoilerific cut! )

My reaction: Ohmygodohmygodohmygod! That's about as close as words have to coming to what I feel right now! I'm also quite curious about spoiler ), just to see what they do with it.

A bunch of people on my flist have done this one, [livejournal.com profile] shawnalasex was the most recent, and I've been wanting to try it for a while. So, here goes! Oh, and i found I had to limit it to shows that are on right now because I couldn't choose with all my back-favorites; the Jossverse alone could take up most of the list!

Pick your five favorite TV shows (in no particular order) and answer the following questions. Don't cheat!

1. Leverage
2. True Blood
3. LOST
4. Supernatural
5. Merlin

It's nothing but a suggestion, a look in his soulful brown eyes as the dance ends and he bows over her hand, pressing his rough lips tenderly to her knuckles.

Seriously, this is my third week being sick. I'm never sick for this long; something just... wormed its way into my immune system. My right ear's infected now, so I feel like I'm on the deck of a ship during a storm all the time. Yes, even lying in bed I get vertigo. It's a very odd sensation and I have to recall when my sister first went deaf (from a series of ear infections) how she would actually just spontaneously fall down. I understand it now! I blew my nose the other day and I heard this horrid sound and blacked out before I realized it was coming from inside my own head--my ear to be precise! (Luckily, I was sitting on the couch so I just fell onto the cushion next to me!) Before that, I was out walking the dogs and got so sick, I didn't even make it home, I had to crouch next to the mailboxes and puke in the bushes! (Luckily, out mail lady's super nice and was very kind to me!) It's... strange. It's been a long time since I've been anywhere near this sick for this long!

Anyhoo, it also means that I haven't kept up with my flist as I've wanted to. I've been reading posts and trying to comment when I can, but lots of things have just kind of passed me by. Like a look at [livejournal.com profile] shipotl's fantastically beautiful garden! Fanvids and fanfics, assorted and sundry. So, I do apologize once more, gentle flist, for my recent inattentiveness. I have been reading, really! Hugs you all!

So, now news. The Official BBC Press Release for Merlin Season 2 revealed that Lancelot would be back, hooray! I won't have to watch episode five repeatedly anymore just to get my Santiago fix!

Doctor Who's new companion was revealed. Yeah. Well, she's awfully pretty. And if the Moff can pull off a character as fantastic as, well, any other female he's ever written (say, oh, Nancy, Sally Sparrow, Reinette, River Song, smart Miss Evangelista... Well, you get the idea!) I'm sure she'll be fantastic. Yes, I'm struggling to be optimistic here.

Oh, and this is for [livejournal.com profile] moetushie! Like father, like son aka Duo of Swedish Hotness Stellan and Alexander SkarsgÄrd (clicky on the thumbnails):

Come on, they're so much alike! And he's a hot old guy, I can't help it! Hee!

Ooh, there was a lot of happy today! We watched Igor, Get Smart, Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead and the Vicar of Dibley Easter special (a perennial family favorite), and then finished the day off with Masters Tournament from Augustus, Georgia (two rounds of sudden death for the championship and then Angel Cabrera, the golfer we were rooting for, won, yay!)

I made my sister laugh hysterically when I yelled at our dogs to stop "harshing my mellow" (she apparently has never heard this phrase and coming from me it was evidently side splitting!) A delish lamb dinner and a Carvel bunny cake all courtesy of my bro's food stamp card just enhanced what was a really nice, low-key holiday (and I didn't even want to kill my brother once! That's a new record!) Plus, I thought I was gaining weight but I put on my (literal) black dress today and found it was even a bit loose on me! FTW!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] writeangel1 continued to pwn the Lancelot love by posting this never before seen (by me) pic:

And finally, [livejournal.com profile] jadeblood: I love ya so much and hope everything goes well tomorrow! Tackles! Got some fic to catch up on!

What made me happy today: This amazingly lovely Easter prezzie from [livejournal.com profile] writeangel1!

Mmmmm, even better'n chocolate! :-D

And, well, Ten Commandments is mandatory viewing this time of year, no matter what holiday you're celebrating. And with that in mind, here's a little insight from my brother:

"Egyptian headdresses stink, too. You have Yul Brynner and Vincent Price in the same movie, and you can't tell the difference between them!"

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] merlin_us for the news:

"Merlin," from the BBC, FremantleMedia and Shine TV, will air Sundays at 8 p.m. starting June 21, when it bows with a two-hour opener. "Merlin" will also air for two hours on June 28, before settling into a regular hour the following week.

w00t! NBC doesn't suck as much as I thought it did, hooray!

From [livejournal.com profile] rum_inspector: Hey, I think this might actually be the plot for one of RTD farewell Doctor Who specials, maybe the Christmas one! xD

Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Titanic and Around the World in 80 Days.
The story should use a malevolent artificial intelligence as a plot device!

Bryan Fuller on returning to Heroes:

It really is a fresh start. All of the characters are back in their real lives. You see Peter as a paramedic. Claire is looking for colleges. We get away from the world of formulas and quasi-magic.

Yes. Episodes 14, 15 and 16 are amazing. The whole "Fugitives" arc starts out very strongly, and then it gets a little dense in the middle in terms of the mythology. So I came in right at the point where everybody was realizing, "Oh, we're getting too dense here and we need to put faces on stories because there is no face to a formula; there is no face to saving the world." So it's turning this big ship back into a character stream, and everyone on the writing staff shares that desire. We need to get back into a character place, because that's where this story started: Very clean, superhero metaphors to everyday life. That's the path that we're taking. But it is a big ship so it's going to take a little while to turn it.

Also glad to see John Glover in the show's future; excellent actor and takes (some of) the sting away over losing Robert Forster (I luv u, Roooobert! *Weeps* Okay, I'm weird, I totally admit it!)

Full article here.

I only hope that they don't drop everything that's been happening; the show has a tendency to do that (which character, what now? I don't remember anyone by the name of Audrey, Claude, Caitlin etc. etc. etc.) and while it hasn't been at its best this season *cough, cough* to just totally dismiss what's gone before is part of the problem and not the cure!

Also awesome: Merlin's been renewed for a second series! *Does happy Snoopy dance* And Richard Wilson's been confirmed as returning which means Gaius doesn't kick the bucket at the end of this season either! Whoooooo!

These were too good not to share with my flist.

The first was made by my very good and very talented friend [livejournal.com profile] jadeblood:

And the second is a serious and seriously romantic one, featuring my very newest fandom, Merlin and in particular Lancelot as played by the enormously yummy Santiago Cabrera. This one was made by [livejournal.com profile] esteliel and posted to [livejournal.com profile] merlin_tv:
