I ended up liking Doctor Who: The End of Time, despite all of Rusty's obvious excesses, and the fact that the exact thing that I feared the most happened. I liked a lot of the things that everyone else did. Still... I can't help feeling like I was watching a slightly different show than anyone else was.

What do you mean it wasn't called: "Rassilon: Epic Sex Lord of the Universe"?! Well, it was for me, sweethearts!

Peace, Ghani

Seriously, this is my third week being sick. I'm never sick for this long; something just... wormed its way into my immune system. My right ear's infected now, so I feel like I'm on the deck of a ship during a storm all the time. Yes, even lying in bed I get vertigo. It's a very odd sensation and I have to recall when my sister first went deaf (from a series of ear infections) how she would actually just spontaneously fall down. I understand it now! I blew my nose the other day and I heard this horrid sound and blacked out before I realized it was coming from inside my own head--my ear to be precise! (Luckily, I was sitting on the couch so I just fell onto the cushion next to me!) Before that, I was out walking the dogs and got so sick, I didn't even make it home, I had to crouch next to the mailboxes and puke in the bushes! (Luckily, out mail lady's super nice and was very kind to me!) It's... strange. It's been a long time since I've been anywhere near this sick for this long!

Anyhoo, it also means that I haven't kept up with my flist as I've wanted to. I've been reading posts and trying to comment when I can, but lots of things have just kind of passed me by. Like a look at [livejournal.com profile] shipotl's fantastically beautiful garden! Fanvids and fanfics, assorted and sundry. So, I do apologize once more, gentle flist, for my recent inattentiveness. I have been reading, really! Hugs you all!

So, now news. The Official BBC Press Release for Merlin Season 2 revealed that Lancelot would be back, hooray! I won't have to watch episode five repeatedly anymore just to get my Santiago fix!

Doctor Who's new companion was revealed. Yeah. Well, she's awfully pretty. And if the Moff can pull off a character as fantastic as, well, any other female he's ever written (say, oh, Nancy, Sally Sparrow, Reinette, River Song, smart Miss Evangelista... Well, you get the idea!) I'm sure she'll be fantastic. Yes, I'm struggling to be optimistic here.

Oh, and this is for [livejournal.com profile] moetushie! Like father, like son aka Duo of Swedish Hotness Stellan and Alexander SkarsgÄrd (clicky on the thumbnails):

Come on, they're so much alike! And he's a hot old guy, I can't help it! Hee!

Peace, Ghani

Bryan Fuller on returning to Heroes:

It really is a fresh start. All of the characters are back in their real lives. You see Peter as a paramedic. Claire is looking for colleges. We get away from the world of formulas and quasi-magic.

Yes. Episodes 14, 15 and 16 are amazing. The whole "Fugitives" arc starts out very strongly, and then it gets a little dense in the middle in terms of the mythology. So I came in right at the point where everybody was realizing, "Oh, we're getting too dense here and we need to put faces on stories because there is no face to a formula; there is no face to saving the world." So it's turning this big ship back into a character stream, and everyone on the writing staff shares that desire. We need to get back into a character place, because that's where this story started: Very clean, superhero metaphors to everyday life. That's the path that we're taking. But it is a big ship so it's going to take a little while to turn it.

Also glad to see John Glover in the show's future; excellent actor and takes (some of) the sting away over losing Robert Forster (I luv u, Roooobert! *Weeps* Okay, I'm weird, I totally admit it!)

Full article here.

I only hope that they don't drop everything that's been happening; the show has a tendency to do that (which character, what now? I don't remember anyone by the name of Audrey, Claude, Caitlin etc. etc. etc.) and while it hasn't been at its best this season *cough, cough* to just totally dismiss what's gone before is part of the problem and not the cure!

Also awesome: Merlin's been renewed for a second series! *Does happy Snoopy dance* And Richard Wilson's been confirmed as returning which means Gaius doesn't kick the bucket at the end of this season either! Whoooooo!
