Two are higher res versions of pics I've already posted, one I couldn't make heads or tails of last time I posted but now I see it's RDJ and Favs in the ring! Happy boxing! As stuffed to bursting full of characters as this movie already seems, I was so happy to see that Happy will be getting at least a little allusion to his comic persona, maybe more! And Pepper in powah is a sight to behold. I'm... a little bit in love! And, of course, Rhodes! Dammit all, am I doomed to be in love with everyone in this movies?! And is it wrong to ship Rhodey/Romonova just by virtue of the two of them being in the same movie. She just looks so fabulous and I'm still into the Tony/Pepper dynamic... and it'd give Rhodey a romance which would rock the world!

I really wouldn't like to see her dye her hair, as so many are suggesting for Sharon or Janet; the red is so distinctive! And, as everyone who reads my fanfic knows, I'd be over the moon if she were Madame Masque but I'd also prefer she had her own movie without having to contend with Black Widow, Justin Hammer and weird amalgamation!Mickey Rourke character. Because of the hair, I'm gonna guess Bethany Cabe and hope it's not more like the Leslie Bibb part in the first movie.

Iron Man 2 update
Apr. 8th, 2009 03:25 pmFirst set video, yays! Well, sort of because as with any early set video of people stalking the actors outside the sets, there's... not a whole lot going on. But coolness anyway!
In other Iron Man 2 news Robert Downey Jr. confirmed (kinda) to MTV that Tony Stark will be involved in a love triangle with Pepper Potts and the Black Widow.
When asked whether he’d be 1/3 of a love triangle in the film, Downey told MTV News, “Heck yeah, Wouldn’t you?”
Okay, so it's not mind-blowing news but, there ya go!

Iron Man 2 updates

After a lot of back and forth, Deadline Hollywood Daily has confirmed today that Mickey Rourke has officially signed on to play a villain in Iron Man 2:
I just heard that ICM has scored its second casting deal for Marvel's Iron Man 2. After at first being low-balled by the studio to the tune of $250K, Rourke has signed on for the role of the Russian villain in the sequel after his agent David Unger got the quote up to a "significant" level despite this punishing economic climate where the studios are taking advantage of talent. (No wonder Mickey kept thanking Unger so profusely in acceptance speeches for the BAFTA, Golden Globes, Spirit, and other awards.) But don't expect Marvel to confirm any of this: they won't until all the i's are dotted and t's crossed on the contracts. I can also tell you that Sony was considering hiring Mickey to play the villain in Spider-Man 4.
Director Jon Favreau will start shooting Iron Man 2 very soon for a May 7, 2010 release date.
UPDATE: Variety adds that Rourke will play "Whiplash, a character that includes elements from that comicbook villain and Crimson Dynamo, another Russian baddie."
Good news. I'm not quite so happy about Scarlett Johansson playing Black Widow, even though I really like her. Maybe I'm still just a bit bitter that Emily Blunt had to (reportedly) drop out when I think she would have been excellent in the part. Sam Jackson is coming back, which is very good news, with apparently a nine movie contract with Marvel. Holy deals!

Fanfic conundrum
May. 23rd, 2008 02:35 pmLe sigh. I am having, as the title of this post suggests, a fanfic conundrum. Finding the right PB for an OC is not always a crucial thing for me, don't get me wrong, but when an actress (or actor or model etc. etc.) becomes a muse, the lure is irresistible. A lot of times, I've found these muses after I've created characters; sometimes they help me to do so. I'm in a position with a character in the Iron Man fic I'm writing where the latter'd be ideal as I really can't get her in my head otherwise; she's not coming to life like I'd hoped. And I'd really hoped to find the perfect actress to inspire me but I've looked and I've looked and it's not happening. Now, I know I shouldn't try to force it, but I do want to keep writing the story--I'm nearly done with Chapter 1 and would have more completed if I could just "find" this character! But she's elusive!
Making it worse, while looking at various actresses yesterday, I found this amazingly awesome pic of Milla Jovovich which is practically screaming to me to write some Iron Man/The Black Widow fic, hijacking her for the Marvel movie!verse, but, unlike the other character I have in mind, Madame Masque, I don't have any plot bunnies bumping around for The Black Widow. Argh! To complicate things further, I've found the perfect Rae LaCoste, girlfriend of Rhodey and former flame of Tony's, in Rachel McAdams, but she's more of a supporting character and a way to give Rhodey something romantic 'cause, well, I'm sexually fixated on him as well as Tony, duh!
Right now, my main contender is Rose Byrne (as Krissy Longfellow and as Whitney Frost, as well as as Madame Masque because the blood kind of looks like scarring) but is it right? I can't tell yet. Usually these things come so easy to me; it's so frustrating!

I make mention of comic character Rae LaCoste; it's a habit of mine, to take comic canon and drag it kicking and screaming into my movie!verse fic. You don't have to have any knowledge of the comic to understand the reference; she's kind of my Rae now.
