Not to mention the reboots of Incredible Hulk (which didn't do nearly as well as the alleged failure of a first one) and the third attempt at a Punisher movie that has already been. Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider are on the horizon and now Spidey falls victim as well. Honestly? I have a theory that now that they have their own movie company they want to reclaim all their properties and produce them themselves, you know?
And, you know, look at Superman Returns: when a franchise is really beloved, sometimes even the passage of time can't really overcome a reboot. Sighs.
