I'm getting tired of reading fans running Shia down: "He's going to ruin the movies!"; "He's an awful actor, he's going to suck the life out of it!"; "Why did they need a popular teeny-bop star in it." Whine, whine, whine. Though the phrase "teeny-bop" is my own and proof that I'm getting really old! ;-P I was excited when Shia was cast; even though I was opposed to the idea of a son at first, I think he's a great actor with loads of charm and if anyone could pull it off and make a fantastic edition to Indy canon, it was him! Now, I understand if people are indifferent or just don't care for him all that much; you always have to allow for personal tastes. But this fuss that he's going to single-handedly kill the movie is absurd.

Whose story is rather mundane despite the fact he has the most and the most prominent; he just can't compete with JDM's. I don't know if many people could! Ha!

I'm not the world's biggest Shia fan, but I don't understand the bitching about him. In fact, I'm sick of fanboyz trashing this movie months before it even comes out! "The title means it'll suck! Shia means it'll suck!"

Hehe, once more my reaction was, "wow, he looks great!" while others looked at it and went, "Oh my gosh, he got old!" Snort!

I s'pose I get all the hatin' 'cos, you know, well, it's Lucas. I remember a quote from Frank Darabont how he said to him that the new script they chose sucked and his judgment sucked ass. He said something like, "You can say stuff like that to George and he doesn't even blink." Even Ann said, "He doesn't blink because he hears it all the freakin' time from everyone!"

I mean, you don't even have to like an actor--heck, I famously dislike Cate Blanchett, but I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that she'll at the very least do her job and I might like her in this, or at the very worst I'll be able to tolerate her. Shrug.

I mean, I don't really hate any of these people. They're just celebrities doing thier jobs and it would take to much time and consume too much of my energy for me to obsess over them. Double shrug.

Yeah, Lucas has heard "You suck!" for years; he's been blamed for ruining movies (studios supposedly stopped caring about quality movies and became all about FX and money when SW came out), for ruining sci-fi (since sci-fi was supposedly so much better before SW came along), and of course, he's "ruined" SW with Ewoks, Jar Jar, etc., and made SW "dumb and kiddie" when it had previously been deep, adult-oriented, and serious.

Of course, at the same time, we're supposed to think Lucas is surrounded by people who kiss his ass, that he systematically weeded out all the pesky "naysayers" who "had the guts to stand up to him."

Seems to me that if fanboyz hate Lucas so much and thinks he sucks so bad, it'd be very easy for them to stop spending their time and money on what he puts out.

I did think when reading it, "Dear God, if it's possiblt, the man's actually more hardcore than John is!" He's certainly authentic, and even a little more badass than i even knew! Lol!!!
