Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull fucking rocks!

That's all I'll say for now. Pretty self-explanatory but considering as I still haven't written up my thoughts on the equally awesome Iron Man, I don;t know when a full review will be forthcoming.

Peace, Ghani

I'm seeing it next weekend! This weekend was just a bad time to try and go to the movies on top of everything... But at least I have something to look forward to! :D

Hope you enjoy it, dear! I actually get my sister to myself for three whole days (the holiday is right between her two days off) so I ran her out to the theater. I'm still sad I don't have the time or money to take her to see Iron Man in the theater, though she has seen it by, ahem, other means.

KotCS was definitely more Temple of Doom than it was The Last Crusade, but I did always have a big soft spot in my heart for the former, so I loved it. And I heart Shia so bad! XD Moreso now!

Which is a plus as far as I'm concerned.

I've seen it twice. IMO it's not as good as the original, but then neither is ToD or LC. But I had a great time at both viewings, and so, apparently, did the audiences I saw it with.

Herr Ford was clearly relishing his final turn as Indy, and, according to rumors I've heard, his final turn as a leading man...said rumors indicate he'll downshift back to supporting roles from now on, which, if true, is a wise choice on his part as far as I'm concerned.

Another plus: the Stick Calista didn't finangle her way into a role in KOTCS!

Well, you know I certainly do as well; I do like Last Crusade but there's always a special place in my heart for Temple of Doom. Mola Ram, Short Round, Harry sucking it up while running shirtless...That's the stuff of my fandom! XD

Lucas has said that he'd like to move Mutt into the spotlight and I have no problem with that. You know I'm a Shia fan, but I also just loved the character; I think my favorite scene is the Malt Shop and the subsequent chase.

Okay, how much did you melt when Indy said to Marion, "They weren't you, honey"? My grin was as big as hers is!

And, good Lord I never thought I'd be saying this, but how fantastic was Cate Blanchett?! Yes, I actually just wrote that! But she's so inspired! Colonel Doctor Spalko, a close second to Belloq as my favorite Indy villain! I can't believe I got my fingers to type any of this! Hee! But I'm not too ashamed to eat crow; it's tasty!

Wish I could have seen it with you! Hugs!

Shia did a damn good job...and this is coming from someone who isn't a huge Shia fan.

Yep, I grinned when Indy said to Marion, "They weren't you, honey." It was a nice touch that, even though both of them had moved on and been relatively happy, they never got over each other. And it was cute at the wedding that when the minister said, "You may kiss the bride," Marion handed the minister the bouquet and jumped on Indy.

Cate was really good. Much, much better than she was as Galadriel on Thorazine (though of course, it'd be hard for her to be worse). Anyway -- she was clearly relishing her role. I guess you could say she's the "Darth Maul" of the Indy series -- a baddie who serves their purpose and then croaks, although they're so charismatic you can't help but want to see more of them.

Good to hear. The way it looked kind of had me worried.

Some of it might have you gawping in disbelief (my sister and I did) because, let's face it, it's incredibly over the top, but it really gets the vibe down of the '50s B-movies. Those are my favorite things about it, the set pieces and characters directly related to the period setting!

Anyway, the whole audience seemed to enjoy it; hope you do as well! :-)

Oh my gosh, pretty good, huh? He's kind of pretended to be in shape for a while but, you could tell, he truly was for this! The scene where they're scrubbing him down after the nuclear blast, hee! Okay, I'll get my mind out of the gutter now! ;-)
