Duma Key! Whenever people say that King has changed too much and his newer books aren't as good as his old ones, I cite that novel now. He outdid himself on that one. Plus, that's how we figured out what BFF OTP we are! :D

That story never takes that wrong turn or goes that step too far that makes you want to groan (even in an otherwise excellent novel). I admit, he surprised even me with that one because I've read lots of his newer stuff and I defend it all because, really, it's good stuff. But Duma is classic. Sand!Ilse will always be burned into my memory as one of the scariest and saddest things I've ever read.

Edgar and Wireman BFF OTP 4 Evah! :-D
