You might have already seen the very first picture of Alice looking down the rabbit hole, but there's also been a slew of character profile shots released (click on the thumbnails):

The last one interests me especially because, while he continues to put Helena Bonham Carter in everything, he made Anne Hathaway resemble ex and one time muse Lisa Marie Smith (Beehive Alien in Mars Attacks, Vampira in Ed Wood, Lady Crane in Sleepy Hollow--my favorite of her performances and my favorite part of that movie!--and one of the apes in Planet of the Apes) to an insane degree! Which also makes it interesting that it's like the Red Queen vs the White. Hm....
Peace, Ghani

on 2009-06-25 08:51 pm (UTC)You raise a good point about Anne Hathaway's look in this movie. I didn't even think of that until you said it. But the odd thing is... the RED Queen is evil and the WHITE Queen is good. So... is he going to maybe turn the tables? Reverse the roles? I had heard it said that he wanted to do something new (which made me go "GOOD LUCK!" because the story has been done to death), so maybe that's part of the plan. Just spitballing. ;)

on 2009-06-25 09:16 pm (UTC)LOL, that's what really gave me pause! Some conflicted feelings there, Tim? He's probably so not aware of it but it's... bizarre, to say the least! Now I want to see Michael Sheen as the White Rabbit! (Squee!) So sexy, so cute, good combination!
From what I've heard, there's going to be quite a bit of Through the Looking Glass in the movie (hence the White Queen), so maybe he'll go at it from that angle. I'm definitely interested, especially with the cast he's assembled!
