10 Reasons Why Grace "Now, do that again" Holloway is Better Than Rose "You a Slitheen?" Tyler*

1 - Grace killed the Doctor with her medical skills; Rose had to use shiny TARDIS pixie dust.

2 - Grace has kissed the Doctor twice as many times as Rose (what series 2/28 trailer?!).

3 - In a medical emergency, which one would you rather have operating on you?

4 - One saved the world despite massive amounts of nonsensical technobabble from the so-called 'hero', the other one arrived just in time to not save the world, but to kill the Doctor with pixie dust. And commit genocide.

5 - When asked, "D'you wanna come with me?" Grace said, "No thanks, I don't want to go wandering the universe with a complete (and possibly insane) stranger that I barely know, because I have a life here, on Earth, and I'm quite good at it really. Why don't you stay with me and see how you cope, eh, Doctor?" Rose said "Yes."

6 - Grace had a boyfriend who left her because she was on call during the opera. He also nicked all her furniture. Rose flung a bitchy comment at her easy-going, rather nice boyfriend and ran off with the Doctor. Forshame.

7 - Grace didn't try and pull the Doctor's lovely TARDIS apart. Instead she fixed it. Sort of. She probably did a better job than the Doctor would have anyway. She did not require the assistance of a giant yellow truck thing.

8 - Rose has issues with her grammar, so does Grace. But at least Grace had the good fortune to bump into a bad guy who'd correct her errors. Hurrah!

9 - When faced with crazy person who claims the world is about to end, Grace does the sensible thing and calls an ambulance to take said crazy person away to psychiatric ward. Rose decides to take crazy person at their word. Silly girl.

10 - The eighth Doctor practically stalks Grace cause she is so fab; the ninth Doctor is a bit irritated that he keeps running into that Rose girl.

*slight disclaimer: I like Rose. I do. I don't like her as much as many, many other character in DW, but I do like her. I don't like media!Rose though. I like Piper!Rose. Yes. And there is a differance.

Indeed! That's why I felt like I needed to post it to my journal :-D That and I share the aauthor's sentiment about Rose. I think perhaps all the hearing about ehr being the be-all and end-all companion grated a bit, but I do like her. Not as much as Grace ;-)
