Anthony Geary recently made an EXTREMELY rare fan appearence in, I believe, New York, accompanied by all three actors who have inhabited the role of Lucky. Soap Opera Digest's ABC Soaps had pics from the gathering and I couldn't help but compare his three onscreen sons.

I hadn't realized how much I'd missed Jonathan Jackson until I saw him all growed up. Greg Vaughn does a very capable job with the kind of lousy storyline he's been saddled with. It was obvious back when Jackson first left and they had hired Jacob Young that they were looking for a totally different type, a more soap opera-y type of a strapping romantic lead. Which is a shame. Because Jackson could have developed the role into something much more than a pill popping, paranoid cop, and his relationship with Liz would be on a whole other level. The reason I had liked Lucky to begin with was pretty much the fact that he was so unusual and had such potential.

I spent years fuming over Jackson's departure; it's one of those things that you just want to go up to the person and hit them upside the head while screaming, "What were you thinking?!" (I'm looking at you too, Ms. Maggie grace!) My temper's cooled considerably in the past couple of years as I've just come to accept Vaughn in the role (though I'll never like him as much or more like I do, say, Natasha Livingston's version of Emily over Amber Tamblyn's) but seeing pics of him with Tony Geary, thinking of what could have been, got me all nostaglic. The sparks between his Luke and Jackson's Lucky were electrifying, a wonderful and dangerous father/son relationship!

And that's how I'll tie this entire rambling post into a holiday themed (Father's day) post! Happy, happy to all y'all out there who are doing the real job! You are the heroes, guys!

Peace, Ghani

ETA: Now with picture! Vaughn on the far left, next to him is Geary, then Jakcson and, on the far right, Young.

Good omens

As we turned on the car this morning to truck it over to the closing for the house, Howard Jones' Things Can Only Get Better was playing, followed quickly by Rich Girl by Hall and Oates! Talk about good omens! Things went smoothly as they could (especially considering as our buyer, also out neighbor, was robbed last night). We were then informed by our bank that it would take SEVEN business for our huge check to go through which is not acceptable 'cause we needed it to put a deposit down on our apartment (waiting to hear if we're approved, cross fingers!), so we had to open an account at the bank across the street (for the better anyways 'cause we're not happy with our current bank). I guess nothing can go off without a hitch, right? ;-)

So, we've got our application in at the complex we want to live in (and if we're not approved we're kinda screwed 'cause everything else has fallen through!) and we're waiting to hear if we got it! I'm pretty confident! I'm just happy all of this is over!
