My username is: ghanistarkiller, recently mistaken for "giantstarkkiller," heh. Ghanima Starkiller is a fusion of two of my early fandoms, Dune and Star Wars and was one of my earliest RPG characters. Since almost every permutation of "Evenstar" (my A&E and Horatians name) had already been taken over here, I was reaching and grabbed at this one. Despite the name, I do not advocate the murder of celebrities (the most common mistake people make with it. Seriously.)

My journal name is: "Weapons of Class Destruction." An episode of Veronica Mars, the pun meaning, like, a school class, but because of VM's usual agenda, I read it as in social class. And I thought that'd make the most awesome punk album title ever, but since there aren't any real punk bands around anymore, it's my journal title.

My title is: Ooh, I haven't changed it in ages! I think it's still Evil Jean-eeyus. I've heard every pun my name can spawn, and I just thought it'd be cute to use this one.

My friends page is called: "Board of Shaman," to go with my Boosh theme. It was actually difficult to think of a body of friends and, really, all the Shaman Council does is chastise Naboo and occasionally try to execute him for fucking up but it's the only thing that fit at all. I realized the other night that mine really is one of those journals where you look at the text and go, "Well, that sort of sounds like it might be the user info..." LOL!

Again, in keeping with my Boosh theme. It's a pretty awesome icon; they managed to smoosh a lot of the theme in there!

This actually took a bunch of deliberating. Most of y'all already know ScaryFanGirl.com and Horatians, which is how I met about two thirds of my flist. So, after much rumination, I decided to give away my secret and post:

FailBlog.Org, where I get most of my funny pictures, etc. Some of you already know this 'cause I got it from a handful of y'all but you can live with it, heh!

Ooh, and ASLpro.com! Best online source with a video dictionary. No 'fart' though, and that bothers both me and my sister. She's now on a quest to find out what the sign for 'fart' is.

Tender Morsels by Margo Lanagan
A retelling of the classic "Snow-white and Rose-red" fairy tale. But, unlike most retellings, this doesn't have some sort of gimmicky hook; it's not modern day or without the magic. It's just a different and very psychological take on the story. It's also interesting that the US is the only country it's being marketed as a young adult novel because it's... really not. To say I'm not easily shocked is a given, so when I tell you the climax almost blew my brain out, don't take it lightly. You don't read about rapists getting magically bummed to near death every day, I'll tell you that! The prose can be a bit dense, but the overall experience of the book, I wouldn't trade that for anything.

Oh, you knew this was coming! A simple story eloquently told in simple free form verse but with all the emotional impact of denser prose (perhaps, in some ways, more). And, yes, the author is my sister and trust me, she has more good stuff on the way!

Since all I listen to nowadays is Robots in Disguise, you'll be surprised to find that this is, in fact, not. Blue Song by Mint Royale, another band I found through The Boosh and they've yet to steer me wrong! (The video still stars Noel Fielding, so screw it! xP)
